How to register | Voter registration deadline | ID and other requirements | Absentee and early voting
Not sure what you’re registering for? Here’s an explainer on U.S. elections.
By mail or online: Oct. 8, 2018
In person: Oct. 29, 2018
You’ll be mailing your ballot in, so there’s no need to bring an ID to a polling place.
You need to have lived in Washington for 30 days to vote.
Washington is 1 of 3 states that send all registered voters a ballot in the mail. (Basically, the whole state votes absentee.)
Your ballot comes with instructions for how to send it back.
It is possible to vote in person. Find out where to vote in-person through Washington’s online system, or contact your local election department.
Military/overseas voters can also get a ballot through the Federal Voting Assistance Program.
